The BAO Health Skin Barrier Support (C-tape), REF 60612, is a curved, non-woven adhesive strip used with ostomy skin barriers (base plates). It is applied around the edge of the base plate after the barrier is in place.
To use it, the protective layer is removed from the adhesive side and the strip is stuck where it is needed, with its inner edge on the skin barrier and the rest on the skin. It is then held still for a moment so it sticks well. The pack lists it as non-sterile and for one-time use only.
Each pack contains 20 strips. Before ordering, check that you need the non-woven version (REF 60612); a hydrocolloid version (REF 60613) is also printed on the pack. Follow the user manual on the pack and your stoma care nurse's or doctor's advice.
